ANZ grants $316k to local charities

ANZ today announced it has granted $316,399, through its Community Foundation, to 16 charitable organisations that are delivering projects to improve financial wellbeing, housing and environmental sustainability.

The Community Foundation is funded by ANZ employees, and for every dollar they contribute through the workplace giving program the Bank matches it with an additional two dollars. Since 1988, more than 900 grants valued at more than $6 million have been distributed.

Chair of the Foundation Sarah Stubbings said: “Fundraising for charities is always a significant challenge, and even more so over the past 18 months, we are glad we can support these organisations that are passionate about improving access to housing, improving people’s financial wellbeing and supporting sustainable environments.

“It’s so great to see our ANZ people continuing to contribute some of their pay each week to help fund these vital projects and make a difference to the lives of many Australians in the process,” Ms Stubbings said.

This year 16 grants were given, with the average recipient receiving $20,000. Five grants were in Victoria, three in New South Wales, three in South Australian, two in Queensland and Western Australia, and one in Tasmania.
