ANZ appoints MD Institutional Australia and MD Transaction Banking

ANZ today announced the appointments of Tammy Medard as Managing Director, Institutional Australia and Lisa Vasic as Managing Director, Transaction Banking.

ANZ Group Executive, Institutional, Mark Whelan said: “I’m pleased to welcome these important new additions to my leadership team. Both are experienced banking executives with exceptional customer relationships, a sharp risk lens, strong leadership and a track record of driving well-managed growth.

“They have also shown a keen focus on product innovation and the use of data and digital to support our customers, as well as a deep understanding of trade and supply chains, which are critical as we and our customers face uncertain times,” Mr Whelan said.

Tammy Medard has been in international banking for more than 20 years, and is currently Head of Diversified Industries, Institutional. She started at the Bank 12 years ago in Risk before relocating with her family for the role of ANZ Laos CEO.

Based in Melbourne, Ms Medard replaces Graham Turley, who is retiring from banking after 15 years at ANZ. Her appointment will be effective as of 1 October 2020.

Lisa Vasic has been at ANZ for almost two decades, most recently as Head of Australia & PNG, Transaction Banking, Institutional. She previously has held roles in Product and Coverage across Retail and Institutional, including leading the Transaction Banking Financial Institutions team across our international network.

Based in Sydney, Ms Vasic replaces Mark Evans, who has moved into the role of Head of Strategic Planning and Execution. Her appointment will be effective 17 August 2020.
