Rohit Bhasin appointed Head of Markets India

ANZ today announced the appointment of Rohit Bhasin as Head of Markets India, reporting jointly to CEO India Sanjeev Bajaj and Head of Markets and Markets Trading Singapore and South Asia, Anshul Sidher.

In his new role, Mr Bhasin will be responsible for driving continued growth in ANZ’s markets business in India, which provides solutions across foreign exchange, capital markets, interest rates, commodities and derivatives, as well as specialist research and risk management expertise.

 

Mr Bhasin has more than 20 years of experience in markets, most recently as Head of Fixed Income and Currencies (FIC) for India, Sri Lanka, and Thailand at Deutsche Bank. He has previously held roles at Royal Bank of Scotland and ABN AMRO.

 

Commenting on the appointment, Mr Bajaj said: “India is the fastest growing major economy in the world and plays an integral role in ANZ’s strategy which is to be the best bank for companies that move goods and capital across the region.”

 

“Rohit’s extensive experience in markets will be of significant benefit to our strong franchise in India, which is a key market for our customers across ANZ’s network who are looking for opportunities to grow their business throughout the region.” Mr Sidher said.

 

Mr Bhasin will be based in Mumbai. The appointment is effective immediately.
