Update on severe weather in Queensland

ANZ today announced it had closed branches and business centres throughout South East Queensland, including in the Brisbane central business district, in response to severe weather expected later today.

ANZ Managing Director Retail Distribution Catriona Noble said: “We have taken the advice of authorities and closed impacted branches for the remainder of the day to help ensure the safety of both our customers and our people.

 

“We are encouraging all staff to remain at home until the weather clears and will provide customers with regular updates via our website and social media,” Ms Noble said.

 

ANZ’s Murwillumbah branch in Northern New South Wales is also closed. We will monitor the situation there and provide further updates as necessary.

 

Branches in North Queensland that remain closed due to Cyclone Debbie include: Caneland Central, Mackay, Mackay North, Moranbah, Moranbah, Rockhampton, Rockhampton Shopping Fair, Yeppoon, Airlie Beach, Bowen, Proserpine, Childers, Gladstone.

ANZ customers affected by the storms are encouraged to visit their local branch when it opens if they are able or to contact their relationship manager to discuss the impact on their business or personal circumstances.
