Jane Halton to join the ANZ Board

The Chairman of Australia and New Zealand Banking Group Limited David Gonski today announced that Sarah Jane “Jane” Halton AO PSM had joined the ANZ Board, effective immediately, following a distinguished career in the Australian public service.

Until her recent retirement, Ms Halton was Secretary of the Australian Department of Finance, responsible for supporting the delivery of the Australian Government budget, the ongoing management of the Australian Government’s non-defence domestic property portfolio, key asset sales and the financial framework for Australian Government agencies.

 

Ms Halton’s previous roles include Secretary of the Australian Department of Health, Secretary for the Department of Health and Ageing, and Executive Co-ordinator (Deputy Secretary) of the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet.

 

Commenting on Ms Halton’s appointment Mr Gonski said: “I am delighted to have Jane join the ANZ Board. Her experience in finance, insurance, risk management, information technology, human resources, health and ageing and public policy and her international experience will be of significant benefit to the Board.”

 

Ms Halton will stand for election as a Director at ANZ’s Annual General Meeting on 16 December 2016.
