Richard Yetsenga appointed Acting Chief Economist

ANZ today announced the appointment of Richard Yetsenga as Acting Chief Economist reporting to Acting Managing Director Markets Shayne Collins, following the resignation of Warren Hogan.

Mr Collins said: “Warren has established a reputation as one of Australia’s leading economic commentators and built a world-class team providing our customers with economic insights throughout the region. I would like to thank him for his significant contribution over the last ten years and wish him well in the future.”

“We are fortunate to have an economist with Richard’s experience in financial markets able to step in while we search for a permanent replacement,” Mr Collins said.

Mr Hogan said: “It’s been a privilege to work with so many talented people over the last ten years as we developed an economics function that is highly valued by our customers and our staff in 34 countries. While it’s never an easy decision to leave such a rewarding role, the timing is right to pursue other opportunities and spend more time with my young family.”

Mr Yetsenga joined ANZ in 2011 and was most recently Global Head of Financial Markets Research, responsible for economic research across all ANZ’s financial markets products. Prior to this he held senior economic research roles at HSBC, Deutsche Bank and the Australian Government.

Mr Yetsenga’s appointment is effective immediately while a search for a permanent replacement is completed.
