ANZ supports Sydneys fintech hub as Foundation Partner
ANZ has signed on as a Foundation Partner of Australia’s first fintech hub, Stone and Chalk, with The Hon. Mike Baird, Premier of NSW today announcing the hub’s physical location and corporate partners.
Supported by NSW Trade and Investment, the fintech hub is designed to support start-ups by providing work and office spaces, expertise and mentoring, as well as access to capital.
ANZ’s Group Chief Operating Officer Alistair Currie said: “This hub comes at an important time in the financial services sector in Australia, where digital and mobile technologies are changing customers’ behaviours and altering the way banks provide products and services.
“The UK has led the way with this concept of bringing together financial services, start-ups and information technology companies into the one hub. The development of fintech is Australia’s opportunity to accelerate and nurture the next wave of technology advancements for the benefit of the financial services sector and the economy more broadly,” Mr Currie said.
