ANZ Tower scores six stars in sustainability

Only 25 other buildings in Australia to achieve six star green star ‘As Built’ rating.

ANZ today announced its Sydney head office, ANZ Tower, has received the highest sustainability rating in the ‘As Built’ category from the Green Building Council of Australia.

There are only 25 other buildings in Australia to achieve a six star green star ‘As Built’ rating, which recognises that sustainable design intentions were realised.

“There is overwhelming evidence that office design significantly impacts the health, wellbeing and productivity of staff. Our Sydney head office represents the next development in ANZ’s commitment to 21st century workplace evolution,” said Kate Langan, ANZ Group General Manager Property.

“ANZ Tower integrates social and environmental considerations, so we provide open plan, flexible workspaces for staff to interact and collaborate, as well as a range of customer meeting areas.

“It also includes a range of new technologies to deliver operational and environmental benefits, such as solar panels, light sensors, extensive LED lighting and has a tri-generation power system designed to lower overall carbon footprint.

“ANZ Tower is a demonstration of ANZ’s commitment to sustainability and it complements our six star rated global headquarters, ANZ Centre in Melbourne, and our regional headquarters at Ocean Financial Centre Singapore – one of the first buildings in Southeast Asia to receive a Platinum level LEED certification2,” Ms Langan said.
