ANZ appoints Manfred Liechti as Managing Director Global Private Banking

ANZ today announced the appointment of Manfred Liechti as Managing Director Global Private Banking, reporting to Joyce Phillips, CEO Global Wealth. 

Commenting on Mr Liechti’s appointment Ms Phillips said: “Fred is a career banker with extensive international experience in both wealth and private banking. We’re delighted to attract someone of his calibre to the role.

 

“His experience will assist us to bring a truly global perspective to the way we support our private banking clients and we are pleased that Fred will be joining the ANZ Wealth team,” Ms Phillips said.

 

Mr Liechti has more than 25 years banking experience in Switzerland, London, Sydney and Singapore and most recently worked at Coutts & Co. as Managing Director and Market Head of South-East Asia. Prior to this, he spent the majority of his career at UBS where he held a variety of senior roles in wealth management, including Head of Financial Intermediaries Asia Pacific, Country Head Indonesia and Regional Sales Manager South-East Asia.

 

Mr Liechti starts with ANZ today. John Body who has been overseeing ANZ’s Global Private Banking business in an acting capacity since August 2012, will continue in his role as Managing Director Wealth, New Zealand.
