ANZ appoints Truett Tate as CEO and Head of Institutional Relationship Banking, America

ANZ today announced the appointment of Truett Tate as CEO and Head of Institutional Relationship Banking, America, with responsibility for helping US-based multinationals harness opportunities in Asia Pacific. 

Based in New York, Mr Tate will report jointly to Mark Robinson, CEO Europe, Middle East, America & India and Drew Riethmuller, Managing Director, Global Relationship Banking.

 

Commenting on Mr Tate’s appointment, Mr Robinson said: “Truett is a senior banker with significant international experience that will benefit our customers looking to connect into Asia Pacific. His deep client relationships and industry standing will also help us achieve our vision of becoming the best connected bank in the region.”

 

Mr Tate has more than 40 years of senior banking experience and joins ANZ from Lloyds TSB Group where he was responsible for Wholesale & International Banking across the United Kingdom, the Americas and worldwide. Prior to this, he spent 27 years at Citigroup where he held a variety of senior roles including responsibility for Citigroup’s Corporate businesses in each of its global geographies.

 

Mr Tate succeeds Doug Stolberg who has been appointed Chief Risk Officer of International and Institutional Banking, and will join ANZ on 1 February 2013.
