ANZ provides FJD75,000 donation for disaster relief and assistance for customers affected by floods

ANZ today announced that it will donate FJD75,000 to the Fiji Red Cross, The Prime Minister’s Flood Relief appeal and to selected local charities to support people affected by the devastating floods and will also provide a banking assistance package to affected customers.

ANZ CEO Fiji, Norman Wilson said: “The floods have had a very real impact on many of our customers, especially in the small and medium business and rural sectors. We hope that this donation and assistance package provides some relief to help them focus on the recovery.

“As businesses and communities assess the extent of the damage in the coming days, it is important that our customers know that we are here to provide the financial support they need at this time,” said Mr Wilson.

As part its assistance package, ANZ will offer to:

  • Suspend repayments on loans, including credit cards, for up to three months (with interest capitalised);

  • Provide temporary adjustments to lending limits, including credit cards, to assist with unexpected costs;

  • Waive fees associated with replacement of damaged business EFTPOS/credit card terminals; and

  • Access term deposits early without incurring any fees.

“For customers impacted by the floods, we ask that they get in touch with us as early as possible, either by visiting their nearest branch or contacting their relationship manager to discuss their business or personal circumstances,” said Mr Wilson.

Customers can also use our phone and internet banking services, which are available to customers by calling ANZ’s call centre on 132 411 or by visiting anz.com/fiji

ANZ’s branch in Nadi town has suffered extensive damage and is closed until further notice.

For all banking needs, customers should visit the Namaka branch.
