Opportunities at ANZ for agri graduates (PDF 20kB)

The program offers successful applicants from regional universities the opportunity to participate in a 12 month banking management program, gaining specialists skills required to pursue a career in agricultural banking. Successful participants are offered permanent employment with ANZ at the completion of the program.

ANZ Head of Agribusiness Development, John Redpath, said the program is about investing in the future: “Creating exciting career opportunities for graduates in rural Australia is vital to ensure that businesses and communities thrive. As one of the biggest banks in rural Australia we have an obligation and a desire to invest for the future.”

Mr Redpath said that in addition to skills in banking and finance, the program offered oneon-one coaching with senior ANZ managers, the opportunity to undertake training in other rural locations, a business mentor and a great career path.

“The Agri Management Program is more than a stepping stone to a successful career with ANZ. We believe the skills and maturity participants gain over the year go a long way to developing the type of people who will be the future leaders in rural Australia,” he said.

James Alcaniz, ANZ Agribusiness Manager in Mount Gambier, South Australia completed the program in 2009. A Bachelor of Agriculture graduate from Melbourne University’s Dookie Campus, Mr Alcaniz said the program enabled him to fast track his career at ANZ and make a difference to the rural communities he works in.

“The hands on training was invaluable. I now have specialist skills to assist farmers with their banking needs and help their businesses grow. If you have a passion for agribusiness and a positive attitude, the program provides the ideal training ground,” he said.
