ANZ today launched its interest-free Green Loans for Australian households to invest in solar, water saving, and energy-efficient products to help reduce their energy and water bills as well as their impact on the environment.

The Federal Minister for Environment, Heritage and the Arts, the Hon Peter Garrett AM MP, today at the Energy Efficiency Council National Conference in Melbourne welcomed ANZ’s announcement.

ANZ Green Loans are now available to households to install environmentally sustainable products such as solar hot water systems once they have had a free Home Sustainability Assessment under the Government’s Green Loans program.

For eligible customers1, the ANZ Green Loan is available for amounts from $3,000 to $10,000 over four years.

Loan features include:

  • no loan approval fee or

  • no loan administration charge,

  • no early-break cost, and,

  • no interest (repayment of principle only)

ANZ Acting Chief Executive Officer Australia Graham Hodges said ANZ was pleased to support the Government sponsored Green Loans program.

Mr Hodges said ANZ was committed to working with the Government to help lower the cost of financing environmentally sustainable products for Australian households.

“Greening your home makes sense from an environmental and a financial perspective. By offering Green Loans we can help Australians save money by making the initial investment in energy and water efficiency more accessible and affordable,” Mr Hodges said.

The Government-sponsored program will help about 360,000 Australian households save energy and water and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
