ANZ appoints Kate Langan as Group General Manager Property

ANZ today announced the appointment of Kate Langan as Group General Manager Property,

following Jane Hamilton’s decision to leave ANZ.

Ms Langan was previously at Jones Lang LaSalle where she was a Regional Director and ANZ Client Relationship Manager with significant involvement in the development of ANZ Centre, ANZ’s new global headquarters in Melbourne’s Docklands, and in other ANZ projects throughout the Asia Pacific region.

Commenting on Ms Langan’s appointment, ANZ Group Managing Director Operations, Technology & Shared Services David Cartwright said: “We are delighted to have someone of Kate’s calibre on board. Kate has extensive experience in Australia and the Asia Pacific region and, given her long relationship with ANZ, she understands the Bank’s property needs.”

Ms Langan holds a Master of Architecture and was a practicing architect in the United Kingdom. She also held senior property roles with the Bank of America, including Vice President of Corporate Real Estate in Hong Kong, where she was responsible for commercial and retail space in 14 countries. She will take up her position with ANZ in early October.

Until November, Ms Hamilton will continue as ANZ Group General Manager Property, overseeing the remaining stages of the ANZ Centre project, which she has managed since its inception in 2006. Ms Hamilton has overseen the development of ANZ’s property strategy, ensuring it supports ANZ’s business priorities, built long term partnerships with suppliers, managed the upgrade of ANZ’s branch network and initiated significant property developments in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide, Auckland and Bangalore.

Mr Cartwright said: “Jane has made a huge contribution to ANZ over the past five years. She has grown the property function from one with primarily an Australian focus to one which now demonstrates a global approach to our property portfolio. We wish Jane the very best in her move to the United Kingdom.”
