ANZ senior appointments in Asia Pacific

ANZ today announced the appointment of Susan Yuen as Chief Executive Officer Hong Kong and Vishnu Mohan as Chief Executive Officer North West Pacific and Managing Director Papua New Guinea. 

As CEO Hong Kong, Ms Yuen will oversee and support the ongoing expansion of the Markets and Corporate & Institutional Banking businesses headquartered in Hong Kong.

 

Prior to joining ANZ in 2008, Ms Yuen was Managing Director Corporate and Institutional Banking for HSBC in Malaysia and held various senior roles during 16 years with Malaysia’s Maybank.

 

Mr Mohan will lead ANZ’s North West Pacific business as well as being country head for Papua New Guinea. The North West Pacific, which includes PNG, Timor Leste and the Solomon Islands, represents a key market for ANZ, including growth opportunities in the natural resource sector.

 

Mr Mohan joined ANZ in 2008 after a 32-year career with Standard Chartered Bank and most recently held a senior corporate banking role with ANZ in Malaysia. Previously he held leadership roles for Standard Chartered in nine countries, including serving as CEO in Ghana, Thailand and Sri Lanka and holding senior roles in the Middle East, Canada, and Singapore.

 

He began his career with Grindlays in Sri Lanka. Ms Yuen commenced her role in Hong Kong at the beginning of June, reporting to CEO North East Asia Alistair Bulloch. Mr Mohan will report to CEO Pacific Craig Sims and his appointment is effective from 1 July 2009. The appointments are subject to regulatory approvals.
