ANZ Infrastructure’s Acquisition of 50% of Esperance Energy Project

ANZ Infrastructure Services Ltd announced that it has completed the acquisition of WorleyParsons’ 50% interest in the Esperance Energy Project, increasing its interest in the gasfired power station to 100%.

The Esperance Energy Project consists of a 336 km gas pipeline from Kambalda to Esperance and a 39MW power station located in Esperance on the south coast of Western Australia. The project, purchased by ANZIS on behalf of Energy Infrastructure Trust, commenced operations in 2004 and is supported by two long-term power purchase agreements with Horizon Power and the Esperance Port Authority, both wholly-owned by the WA Government.

EIT is managed by ANZIS and acquires or develops energy-related utility and infrastructure assets in Australia and New Zealand. Through EIT, ANZIS now has interests in four power station projects in Western Australia and Queensland as well as two wind farms in South Australia. Total generation capacity of these projects is in excess of 950MW.

The acquisition does not alter the project’s existing contractual relationships. WorleyParsons, for example, will continue to provide services pursuant to its facilities management agreement.
