ANZ appoints new Head of Internal Audit
ANZ today announced the appointment of Michael Liarakos as Group General Manager Internal Audit reporting to David Meiklejohn, Chairman of the Audit Committee of the ANZ Board.
Mr Liarakos has been acting in the role since the retirement of Richard Moore in November 2008. He has been Deputy Group General Manager Internal Audit since 2005 after joining ANZ as Senior Audit Portfolio Manager, Operations Technology and Shares Services. Previously Mr Liarakos worked in senior risk management and group audit roles at National Australia Bank and has held senior roles at Arthur Andersen and KPMG Peat Marwick.
Mr Liarakos’s appointment is effective immediately.
