ANZ named ‘Best Local Private Bank - Australia’

ANZ has been named Best Local Private Bank – Australia, at the 2009 Euromoney Private Bank Awards, announced last Friday.

The Best Local Private Bank award is given to the organisation that ranks the highest against set criteria and is considered to have the best reputation in its local market.

ANZ Managing Director, Private Bank, Catherine McDowell, said: “It is a great privilege to win this award and reflects the commitment of our team to always focus on the total financial needs of our clients.

“Our staff are always working with our clients to help better meet their needs, especially given the constantly changing economic environment. We have a targeted strategy to grow in Asia and this award helps raise our profile across our key geographies” Ms McDowell said.

In addition to its award as Best Local Private Bank – Australia, ANZ was also voted number one in Australia for:

  • Specialised services for corporate executives;
  • Specialised services for inherited wealth and business; and
  • Trust services (joint winner).

The awards include banks in more than 60 countries.

About 15,000 people across the global wealth sector voted for the awards as part of the annual Euromoney Private Banking Survey, which is a peer review of the best services in private banking worldwide.

The award rates the top private banks in the world against criteria on customer service, assets under management, profitability, privacy, and the products and services offered.
