ANZ appoints Retail Asia Managing Director
ANZ today announced the appointment of Ms Nina Aguas to the role of Managing Director, Retail Asia.
Ms Aguas has significant experience and expertise in Asian banking markets. During 25 years with Citigroup she held various senior management positions including as Country Business Manager, Consumer Group for the Philippines and Regional Audit Director for the Asia Pacific region. Ms Aguas also held the role of Regional Head for Quality and Re-engineering, where she had overall management responsibility in 13 countries across Asia, including Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan, Taiwan, Korea, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia and Philippines.
Most recently, Ms Aguas has been Senior Advisor for Quattro Risk Management and a Board Member of the Market Integrity Board of the Philippine Stock Exchange.
Commenting on the appointment, ANZ Chief Executive Officer Asia Pacific, Mr Alex Thursby said: “We are pleased to have someone with Nina’s expertise and experience in personal banking in Asia join the team as we build out our retail business across the region.
“Nina will lead a strong focus on building the franchise around our core affluent and small to medium enterprise customers, while also implementing a retail banking blueprint to leverage our partnerships in Asia.”
Ms Aguas will be based in Singapore and will report to Mr Thursby and ANZ Global Retail Segment Lead, Mr Brian Hartzer.
She commences with ANZ in January 2009.
